Institutional Design - "The Art Institute - School of Fashion"
The Art Institute - School of Fashion was designed to incorporate the inspirational history of the industry so that students may use the space as a learning tool. Playful vintage accessories and finishes where chosen to foster creative design and highlight the displayed works of the buildings inhabitants. The square footage of the building provided ample space to expand studio's, workrooms, and resource spaces, as well as, the multi-purpose commons/runway breakout zone. This in turn, effectively maximizes comfort and adaptability for faculty and students. Finally, this learning environment will enhance the students drive to design exceptional garments and accessories.
Additionally, this project allowed me to blend multiple mediums to create interesting design features, such as the commons/runway perspective. Drawn by hand and rendered in dual mediums; hand & Photoshop, the drawing effectively demonstrates the design intention and passion for the project, rewarding me with another successful example of great design.
